Seductive Souls ft Onita Boone - Ain't Nobody [Peppermint Jam]

You don't get much braver than covering Chaka Khan but serious congratulations are in order as Seductive Souls pull it off in some style. "Ain't Nobody" needs no introduction having been a worldwide dance-floor smash since the days of its original release back in 1983. On this occasion it's Onita Boone on vocals and she delivers a big time performance that pays it dues to the original while injecting her own personality and vocal qualities. There are four mixes in total kicking off with "Rob Hardt's Extended Mix" which captures the spirit of the original Rufus & Chaka Khan composition with a mid-tempo funky groove. "Mousse T 's Aint No Good Man Mix" goes for the jugular, upping the tempo with a stripped back house style groove, synth bass, funky guitars and irresistible rhythms. Paul Rudder & Hurlee deliver an understated dubby interpretation and the package concludes with Andy Buchan's down-tempo mix. Every single mix captures the essence of the original composition in a respectful manner. There's no doubting that these mixes will bring a classic track to a new generation of clubbers while bringing a smile to those of us who were around in '83 to experience it first hand. Available on pre-release via Traxsource from November 16th with an official release date of November 30th.
