Boris Dlugosch - Keep Pushin' [Peppermint Jam]
Not the first release on Peppermint Jam but almost certainly one that widened the label's audience considerably. "Keep Pushin'" was one of the tracks that absolutely stood out in the summer of 1996. The nagging rhythms and tough synth bass provide the perfect vehicle for a soulful undercurrent and Inaya Day's gorgeous vocals. There was no other track that sounded quite like it at the time and it was equally well received in venues with and without dancefloors. In the years that have followed, many a track from all involved has found its way into my collection and this one still brings a smile to my face whenever I hear it.
