Flashback 1991

Thirty years and counting for this gem. The immense vocals of Adeva and a stellar remix from Tony Humphries leave little need for any additional narrative from me (or anyone else for that matter).

The Reese Project - So Deep [Network] (1993)

Heading back 25 years in time to find Kevin Saunderson under his Reese Project guise. This particular release is a typical slice of uplifting house music featuring the passionate vocals of Latrece Kinchen. The mix featured in the Youtube video below is my personal favourite as CJ Mackintosh delivers a mid tempo keyboard laden groove that hits all the right spots. It should be noted though that across the various editions of this track there are remixes from Joey Negro, Tony Humphries & Bump over a total of three different 12" singles; at the time that was a pretty stellar line up.

Movin' Records Launches Digitally

As someone who's old enough to remember the early days of the house scene, Movin' Records is a label I was already familiar with having purchased a few of their releases on vinyl back in the day. It's great to see their catalogue of music which includes some absolute gems finally getting a digital release. No doubt it will help expose some of those tunes to a new, younger audience who weren't lucky enough to experience the music first hand. For the uninitiated, the label's discography includes tracks and mixes from leading lights such as Kerri Chandler, Tony Humphries Boyd Jarvis and Blaze amongst many others and became synonymous with the distinctive New Jersey Garage sound. Check out a few of the many great releases below:
