With the rain pouring down and the rest of the family otherwise occupied I had the prefect excuse for putting together a new show. This episode treads a soulful path from start to finish in a journey that lasts a little more than an hour.
To kick things off I've picked out DJ Pope & Unqle Chriz - "Loving You" which surfaced on Soulfuric a little earlier in the summer. The version featured is a rather tasty remix from Marc Pomeroy & Brian Tappert under their Jazz'n'Groove moniker. Next up is Eric Faria's tasteful cover of the Barry White classic "Can't Get Enough of Your Love Baby" which was released back in June on Purple Music. The third track sees us heading back to the start of the year when Dave Lee's Z Records released new mixes of the Bobby D'Ambrosio & Michelle Weeks cover version of "Moment of My Life". The original from Inner Life dates back to 1982 and Bobby and Michelle's cover is already 22 years old. We move on with a gorgeous silce of soulful house from Danny Clark; "Joy" features the stunning vocals of Carla Prather with the remix coming from Masaki Morii. next up is Rob Hayes stunning remix of "Lost Love" by Lisa Cole which is followed up by Purple Disco Machine's equally effective remix of Julien Jabre's "Swimming Places". Passing the halfway stage we find Rob Hayes brand new one "Funky Jazz Tune" which is currently on promo through Richard Earnshaw's Duffnote Records. Moving on Mr V makes his debut on Salted Music remixing Drew Feelin's "The Night Life" and the result is well worth the long wait. The second selection from Jamie Lewis' Purple Music follows in the shape of Walterino's aptly entitled "Disco Hustle". The punchiest offering comes in the form of Micky More and Andy tee's remix of "Took My Love Away" by Right To Life which features some instantly recognisable samples. Last but by no means least the show finishes with another slice of soothing yet compelling house from Ces ft Unqle Chriz: "Work Things Out" was released last month on Tribe Records.
All tracks with the exception of "Lost Love" are available to buy now on Traxsource.
