Richard Rogers - Can't Stop Loving You [BCM]
For the second time his week , we find ourselves back in 1990 and a gem which owes much to the production skills of Marshall Jefferson. I recall quite a bit of fuss about this track at the time as Marshall had decided to put together a house track recorded completely with live musicians. The 12" lived up to every bit of the hype and none of the remixes in the years since have matched the original for depth, atmosphere or authenticity. I'm not sure it needed proving but " Can't Stop Loving You" clearly demonstrates that great dance music does not need to be electronic. Production aside, there's no doubting the quality of Richard's silky vocals. 31 years later it still sounds amazing!
