Tune Of The Week!

Byron Stingily & Teddy Douglas - We Belong Together [Basement Boys Records]

Basement Boys Records reaches the milestone of 100 releases in fine style with "We Belong Together" from Byron Stingily and Teddy Douglas. Anyone who knows house music will be familiar with both names. Byron has been around the scene since the 80s between fronting Ten City (recently re-formed) and throughout a stellar solo career which has seen him collaborate with the most significant producers and remixers. His voice, particularly when delivered in falsetto style, is as recognisable as they come and puts him in a highly select bracket of the finest vocalists around. Teddy Douglas as one of the cornerstones of The Basment Boys production team has also enjoyed a high profile over a lengthy career, having worked with Crystal Waters, Ultra Nate and Martha Wash to name only a few. As for the track itself, you can expect a piano driven gem with warm bass, inviting rhythms, atmospheric strings and catchy horns all of which work with Byron's vocals to create an emotionally charged, uplifting experience. I forecast that many of us will be singing along even after a couple of listens. In the absence of a dancefloor, there will be more than a few swaying around their homes to this too. Sheer brilliance!
