Marc Cotterell - Soulful Sides [Lisztomania Records]

I started out to review this a few weeks ago before a family illness diverted my attention elsewhere. So after a month long delay I'm finally picking up where I left off. The weeks in between have seen a full release for this one, which in its "Original" is a punchy yet soulful number with sweet female vocals that could easily have slotted into the Soulfuric catalogue of the early 00s. The Derrick McKenzie Remix has been the one I've found most instantly infectious complete with gorgeous keys and catchy synth strings. The Colourjaxx Remix takes a deeper approach with jazzy keys and throbbing bass. All in all it's a pretty tasty package!
