Today's trip back in time is a short one, heading back only five years to find a heavenly slice of soulful house. It's a track that oozes soul with the most gorgeous keyboard arrangment (courtesy of Selan), funky bass from Gene Perez and exquisite production from Soulshine supremo Louis Benedetti. The vocals are delightful and delivered with just the perfect dose of emotion. Close to perfection!

Flashback 1998
Lenny Fontana presents Andricka Hall - I'll Give You Love [Soulshine Recordings]
Here's another track that used to feature regularly in my sets. Released back in 1998 on Louis Benedetti's label Soulshine Recordings, "I'll Give You Love" is a hands in the air anthem with a turbo-charged groove. Lenny Fontana's "Anthem Vocal Mix" is a driven by a combination of keys and driving uptempo rhythms. My weapon of choice though was the "Jazz-n-Groove Club Mix" complete with booming bassline and bounding rhythms. The infectious yet edgy keyboard arrangement that typified the JnG sound of Marc Pomeroy and Brian Tappert is very much in evidence both on their vocal and dub versions. Still brilliant 23 years on with the full suite of mixes available on Traxsource.

Label Spotlight - Soulshine Recordings
Louis Benedetti's label is 21 years old this year, having launched back in 1997 before the days of CDJs and digital downloads. Over three decades the label has stayed true to an ethos of soulful music whether it was from the label boss himself or a carefully selected band of collaborators whose tunes fitted the unique vibe of the label. I've picked out 20 of my personal favourites heading back as far as the label's second year. I hope you enjoy the selections as much as I do.
