Gravitational Attraction

After a three month break, I've finally managed to find a free hour or two to put together a new mix show.
This show was conceived about 2 months ago but I never actually got round to recording it. It starts off a little poppy from Armand Van Helden (with a twist) before delving into a blend of soulful and deeper grooves and finishing with some funk fuelled fun from Z Records at the very end.

Track Review

Michael Gray ft Sian-Lee - Gravity [Sultra Records]

Ahead of his forthcoming long player, Michael Gray drops his latest with Sian-Lee on vocals. As you'd expect from someone so accomplished this has all the ingredients to get the floor moving. The booming bassline is accompanied by a combination of punchy synths, soothing strings and uplifting vocals while the rhythmic perussion makes sure no one will be standing still. It's been sitting in my cart on pre-order waiting for the release on Friday (24th April). Absolutely essential!

Dancefloor Hustle

The fourth show of 2026 features a few new(ish) releases, another few that I haven't previously worked into my mixes and a few re-edits of classic tunes from years gone by. The vibe covers uplifting house through to disco. If I had to pick a stand-out track it would be Sgt Slick's remix of Luther Vandross & Janet Jackson "The Best Things In Life Are Free" which is reimagined to include the groove from D Train's "Keep On"

The Funky Worm - Hustle To The Music (Dave Lee Re-Wriggle)
Simon Adams - Feeling Good (Miguel Migs Salty Club Rub)
Jamie Love ft Mr. V - I Got the Love (Groove Assassin Main Remix)
Evelyn "Champagne" King - Love Come Down (Dr. Packer Remix)
Michael Jackson - P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) (Sgt Slick's Discotizer ReCut)
Tommy Glasses - On the Dancefloor (Extended Mix)
Jaegerossa - Hey Zeus Children (John Morales M+M Mix)
Audiowhores ft Angela Johnson - Touch The Ground (DJ Passion & George Jackson UK Remix Extended)
Luther Vandross & Janet Jackson - The Best Things In Life Are Free (Sgt Slick's Discotizer ReCut)
Unlimited Touch - I Hear Music In the Streets (Michael Gray Remix)
Change ft Tanya Michelle Smith - Got 2 Get Up (Micky More & Andy Tee Prime Time Remix)
Rikky Disco & Yam Who? - Shine On (Extended Mix)

Full Intention - Sky's The Limit [Kookoo Records]

Jon Pearn & Michael Gray are back in the Full Intention guise with a piano driven anthemic release. It's built upon a chassis that replays and samples elements of D Train's 1982 classic "Keep On" ensuring maximum hands in the air effectiveness. "Sky's The Limit" has been previewed several times on Michael Gray's monthly shows on Mi Soul Radio over the last year and is certain to be well received wherever and whenever it's played. Available now on Traxsource promo with an official release date of Juy 2nd.

Franz vu Letzebuerg presents Brian Christopher - In The Spirit Of Love [Big Box Recordings]

It was a pleasant surprise when this arrived in my in box recently; a slice of soulful house with soothing vocals, lush keys and an old school NYC style bassline that has me thinking of the early 1990s and some classics from that era. The Dub in particular is reminiscent of Roger Sanchez material back when soulful house was his bag. Full Intention provide an excellent interpretation with an organic vibe, synth bass and atmospheric synth strings which inject a fair amount of emotional resonance. All three mixes work nicely and I can see myself playing this one for some time to come. Available to pre-order now on Traxsource with a release date of November 2nd.
